UIDAI lets those who have Aadhaar cardsto change their address and without the need of documentation. Aadhaar cardholders can change their address if they could not prove an identity proof.

New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily stopped an important feature which allows you to alter your Aadhaar card's address, without documentary proof of address.

UIDAI permits customers of Aadhaar cards to change their address without any paperwork. Aadhaar cardholders are able to change their address only if they are able to consent to the authentication and verification process of an address verifier. An address verifier can be a close friend, relative landlord, family member or even a friend who allows the Aadhaar card owner to use their address as proof.

UIDAI has stopped using this feature. UIDAI responds to an Aadhaar Card user by tweeting the ability to update the address on the Aadhaar Card through the Address Validation Letter was removed. UIDAI has asked to the Aadhaar issuer to advise the user that they can change their address by using another valid PoA document.

Dear Resident Attention: The Contact Validation Letter service has been suspended until the end of time. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
